About

Hike's N' Stuff is written by Julie LePage.  A few things about me...

Hiker/Backpacker
I'm an enthusiastic hiker & backpacker, particularly enjoying full day, multi-peak traverses, as well as multiple day backpacks in the farther reaches of NH & ME. I live in Boston, MA, USA and hike mostly in New England and occasionally in New York State.

History with the AMC
Since 2006, I've been a Volunteer Hike & Backpack Trip Leader for the Boston Chapter of the Appalachian Mountain Club (AMC). I lead hiking and backpacking trips year round in the mountains of New England. In 2008, I became a Hiking/Backpacking Trip Leader with AMC's August Camp, a nomadic, 4 week camp which plunks itself out west each summer (western US & Canada). And in 2009, I became a AMC Trail Adopter on an upper-portion of the Air Line Trail between Mt. Adams & Mt. Madison in New Hampshire's White Mountain National Forest. You can find me working away on the trail each June - Sept.

Food Lover
While this blog mostly focuses on hiking trips & gear, I also like to blab on about trail recipes, food product discoveries and other food related subjects.

Ultralight Nerd
I'm a proud Trail Ambassador for Gossamer Gear, the ultra-light hike gear company from Austin, TX. Over the years I've lightened my backpack and enjoyed the freedom of hiking with less - and I enjoy sharing tips for lightening one's pack.

  1. Would it be possible to post a photo or two from your blog, that were taken in the Pondicherry area of Jefferson, NH a while ago on the Friends of the Cohos Trail Facebook page and in the Cohos Trail slide show? The Jefferson Meadows shot is a show stopper.
Thank you. Kim R. Nilsen, founder of the Cohos Trail.

    1. Of course, Kim! I'm a huge fan of all the work you & all the vols have done on the Cohos, thank you! We did the trail over a few years as AMC day and backpack trips, and on own own with friends and had a blast. Great trail, great adventure! I'll post a few on the Cohos FB page, as I have joined that. Can you send the link to post in the "Cohos Trail Slide show"?

    2. Or, if you want to just grab the images yourself off the blog, feel free and post at will!
